Happy Hounds provides all-natural cosmetic teeth cleaning above the gum line using hand scalers, while your pet stays awake and relaxed. It removes plaque and tartar, reduces bad breath, and brightens the smile, with no anesthesia involved. Each appointment takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on buildup.

This is a cosmetic cleaning above the gum line, not a replacement for a full veterinary dental under anesthesia. It is ideal for maintenance, fresher breath, and removing visible plaque and tartar.

Every pet is assessed first to make sure an awake cleaning is a good fit. Pets that are very anxious or unsafe to handle may not be suitable candidates.

Both dogs and cats are welcome.

Does the cleaning hurt my pet?
No. It is a very gentle procedure done by hand, above the gum line. Many dogs and cats are so relaxed they fall asleep during their cleaning.
How do you keep my pet calm without anesthesia?
Your pet is held comfortably and settled with gentle relaxation techniques, with a second team member there to keep them at ease. Every pet is assessed first, and if they are not comfortable enough to safely complete the cleaning, the team will stop.
How long does an appointment take?
About 45 minutes to an hour, though it can run a little shorter or longer depending on your pet's needs and the amount of buildup.
What if my pet's teeth are in rough shape?
At the visit the team takes a close look first. If they spot loose or broken teeth or anything unusual, they will refer you back to your vet. Some pets need a cleaning under general anesthetic at a clinic, and that is assessed case by case.
How effective is a cosmetic cleaning?
The team can thoroughly clean the inside and outside surfaces of the teeth along the gum line. It is a cosmetic service, not veterinary care, so they do not diagnose or treat disease. For heavy buildup with loose or broken teeth, they will refer you to your vet for a deep cleaning under anesthetic.
Can I stay with my pet during the appointment?
Like kids, most pets settle and behave better when their owner is not right beside them, so the team prefers to work with your pet on their own. Your pet's safety and comfort is always the first priority.
